Halo: Reach Legendary Edition $149.99 |
Call me stupid, but I love Collector's and Limited Editions. At $80 - $150 each they are not in the least cheap. I know I'm on a budget, but I really love having these different things. I have most of the collectible display items in a nice case and the huge boxes in a big ass stack in another room. But why do I get them, and why do I spend extravagant amounts of money on them? I think I know why...
First off, I love games. Anything I can do to support the industry that has kept me entertained for most of my life, I like to do. 90% off all the games I buy now are new. I barely buy used games because the people that actually make them don't get any money from the sale. An industry cannot stand if none of the maskers can make money.
I also get all this cool stuff to display in my house. It shows my pride as a gamer to anyone that sees it. I can see the craftsmanship that goes into designing something like a CE. I personally like the large statues and display pieces. If I ever run out of space in my current case, I will have to get another one. While gaming is no longer a lifestyle, it is my greatest hobby and I am still very proud of that.

Forza 4 Limited Collector's Edition |
Could I just get the normal edition of a game? Yes, but would I have all this cool useless stuff? No. Could I just pick it up later when it starts to go for super cheap? Sure, but do I want to risk the chance of not getting it? Not one bit. Some say it's a waste of money. I don't care, I waste my money on stupider things all the time. I should at least get something cool to look at if I do waste my money.
